Cardinal Release

I got up one morning and noticed that the pair of cardinals were looking in the window. I grabbed my FlipCam to get some shots before they flew away and then realized that they were actually trapped in the window well outside. This is a common problem for many small animals, including birds and amphibians. Often, a variety of edible material such as seeds or insects have taken refuge in these sheltered areas and larger animals such as birds will hop down to forage. However, it is very difficult for them to get back out unless there is a ground-level exit. As you can see, they were eager to escape once I opened up the plastic barrier. So if you have window wells, consider cutting a 1-2 inch hole in one side so animals can escape if they get trapped!

I thought that was sweet when you let them go, this is a sad story and I can’t stand it when a sick person would trap and torture an inicent creature.  Nice Job!
