Their story is just sad. A small fisher village of Izmir is called Foca, Focaea, whose name come from the animal...Now, there are less and less and the latest news from a rehabilitation center for one of the seals say that the animal there (Badem) is being beaten in the center in order to be "tamed"...I feel so sorry for such creatures, whose numbers are reduced to several hundred because of human activities...
