science and technology is the biggest reason in increasement

    of population

    • Layla Smith says:

      ARE the biggest reasons 🙂

      • Taeboi says:

        BE da biggest reasons

      • James Peters says:

Actually Niks is not wrong if he meant to use ‘science and technology’ as one entity. You don’t say, “hide and go seek” are a fun game just because there is an ‘and.’

        • Joshua Salo says:

Actually… Hide and go seek is a singular entity only because it refers to a game. Science and technology are not, in this context, referring to a single entity. Good try though 🙂

        • Paul Keller says:

But that’s not a recognized pairing. I didn’t go to “science and technology” class. It also is linguistically ugly. You don’t get to decide that two individual concepts are now a singular entity just to account for grammatical errors.

    • random person says:

not even, why would science and technology have to do anything with birth rates

      • LiveWire says:

Vaccinations, medicine, water treatment, waste sanitation, ability to order anything you want online from anywhere in the world and have it delivered within a couple weeks (including vaccinations, medicine, water filters, etc.).

      • John says:

I agree, EVERYBODY IS WRONG. Population graphs and statistics show that first world populations have stayed the same since around 1800, but in the third world, theyre multiplying like rabbits.

Its the other way around, better medicine and technology makes populations grow slower

        • kent says:

its not necessarily more births bro, its less deaths. Less people are dying, and so there are more people even with the status quo for birth ratrs

        • Florian says:

Not true though. Humans lived to an average of about 30-40 years before modern medicine came around. Also, it used to be that your life span was closely related to the health of your teeth. Once you lost them you were pretty much screwed. In today’s age you are right though. The largest population growth comes from third world countries but even if you just look at first world populations they are still growing like crazy. Its all because we pretty much doubled our life expectancy in the last 200-400 years. Also, some religions prohibit contraception which doesn’t help either

        • Bob Swaget says:

Nope, the population explosion we’ve had in the last century is solely because of advancements in medicine and technology. You cannot prove me wrong. Please, do not spread this misinformation when you have no idea what you’re talking about.

      • mopsie1 says:

Every form of artificial conception, like IVF, surrogacy, sperm donation, etc. is science and technology contributing to the overpopulation problem.

    • Tong vengrong says:

Excuse me… Can u explain this point? I’m not clear.

    • tay says:

That doesn’t even make sense. Because of science, women are now able to have abortions when they doesn’t exist back then. We’d have way more humans if science didn’t exist.

      • John says:

Youre correct 😀 Its POOR COUNTRY populations that are skyrocketing quickly, but in the first world (europe, australia, usa etc) its growing steadily so that we can catch up.

      • yazan says:

Due to medicine death rates are going down and healthy birth rates are going up hence the increase in population, life expectancy increased by around 28 years for the average adult male in the last 100 years

    • John says:

No, its not. The population in the first world has stayed the same for a few hundred years, but in poorer regions its SKYROCKETING, to the point theyre making things worse for themselves (heard of the saying ‘the rich get richer while the poor get poorer’? Its very true). Thats not to say theyre bad people, its just unfortunate; they deserve to be alive but theyre having too much sex for their own good.

      • Anonymous says:

Ah sorry but your wrong. Actually, the rich getting richer is not true. Same thing with the poor getting poorer. Basic Economics states that every mutual trade brings net benefits to both parties in the exchange. So actually everybody moves up in living standards as economies grow. Second of all, In the US and other countries, the data says that people actually shift (every few years or so on average) up and down the percentage scale in earnings. So in the end, both rich and poor get richer by hard work and creating opportunities for themselves only, not due to a myth that accumulated wealth automatically guarantees more wealth.

        • Jennifer says:

I must agree and anyone with intelligence would. The poor usually have multiple kids and collect. The smarter people wait to have a child or two. Not 4 or 6 and collect. It’s the welfare recipients and the third world countries with multiple children when they can’t even feed themselves

          • Florian says:

Haha, you think that 3rd world countries have welfare… how cute. You have it backwards though. Its simple math. We have doubled our life expectancy in the last hundred years(from about 30 years to 60+). If you look at just first world countries, the population is growing too because people live that much longer.

      • Gee says:

If technology(man made tools) weren’t commonly used natural selection would play a part on our population. The fact that humans have developed beautifully adaptive brains gives us the ability to build tools live long and comfortable and procreate longer. So our awareness of science (the fundamental behavior of the universe) allows us to shape our world with technology directly affecting our population

World population is increasing at the rate of 1,000,000 every 5 days !
    Get a grip David!
That’s an increase of 73,000,000 this year alone, If we don’t find a way of reversing this trend we are all screwed!
At times like this we need a major conflict/disaster to reduce the numbers…….Please forward your suggestions in this respect to:- ‘[email protected]

  5. ABNHYH says:

They need to do something with population control.

  6. emferret says:

Population is increasing nearly exponentially whereas global ability (including political & logistical factors) to provide potable water, sanitary food, waste mgmt, etc., increases much closer to linearly. Wars – large & small – hardly affect these numbers at all. Even a pandemic (unless ‘catastrophic’) would have trouble affecting the stats long term. The planet currently produces enough food to feed approximately 11 billion. However, much of that ‘excess’ production goes into feeding livestock for meat. I’m not vegetarian or vegan. The other substance humanity cannot do without – fresh water – is used to grow ornamental (not cereal) grass, more so than used by botanical agriculture (at least in the US). Yet > 1 billion people do not obtain the minimum Caloric intake in the proper proportions (proteins, fats, & carbohydrates) to maintain a healthy existence. In a nutshell, we’re up the creek & lost the paddle long ago.

    • LiveWire says:

You COULD be hit by a bus tomorrow. It’s not likely, but it happens to SOMEONE almost every day. In addition to wars, random violence, car accidents, disease, or one of any number of other factors, any person could die at any time. It’s only the lucky ones who get to live good lives for as long as they want.

  17. jk100 says:

I wonder why there is no rule/campaign implemented for the maximum no. of children a family should have, before it’s too late…

    • Jari says:

They tried that in China. No one liked it, and imagine if Americans were told to have a limit.

      • Ariana Grande' says:

It’s working in China though. Their population has slowed down a significant amount, and their ecological footprint has decreased. Yes, they still have a billion more people than we do in the United States, but they would have a lot more if it weren’t for the one child policy.

    • PonchoKitty says:

Because that would be a law the government neither has the right to make nor assets to enforce. It is foolish and inconsiderate to enforce your ideas upon others with even showing ample evidence.

  18. Zack says:

The World populations goes up by 78.4 million per year and 208,000 per day ( Estamation by the United Nations).

  19. Henry Stafford says:

please the united nations has determined by their agenda 21 population control policy, to reduce world population by 2 billion people. Through increased abortions in poor areas, war and reduction of proper health care for the elderly and through spread of global disease and starvation, while appearing to act concerned. Last meeting they stated they were making good progress but can do better. The horsemen of the apocalypse are riding. Satan has deceived the world and it is following him to the end. Through religion and self righteousness Satan has deceived them all. Our relationship with our Father Yahweh through Yahsuah the Son of Yahweh, He says just come home to Him He loves us UNCONDITIONAL, waiting to forgive all and His only command to us is to Love One Another as He has loved us even to the death. This is for all people, please this is underway and does not have to end the way its headed

    • LiveWire says:

      Tinfoil hat time.
The UN is doing no such thing, and I’m surprised you think that they would be competent enough to pull off something that organized.
Abortions have decreased, generally, over the last 40 years (globally), despite legalization, due to better education, better quality of life, and better healthcare. There are organizations to distribute food and teach people how to farm. World literacy and education is at its highest level ever, and will continue to creep upward, despite the doom-and-gloom prophecy crowd.
It sounds like you would rather blow up the world, than have it live on without holding your point of view. That is a dangerous idea.

  21. Abdul Malik Ghauri says:

No.1 challenge to world peace, sustainability, environment, crime control, human trafficking comes from higher birth rate in 3rd world people. Without adopting 1 child policy in 3rd world for 30 years the dream of a peaceful world and sustainable earth planet cannot be achieved. Let us be focused and develop consensus.

  30. Aiden says:

Its amazing the amount of people that are aware and passionate about overpopulation; yet simultaneously have done such little reading up on the actual causes and proposed solutions. People seem to just look for the answer that is most convenient or easy for them to accept as true. This is a complex issue with a huge amount of variables; that’s why its worth investing some time for actual research if you want to understand it. We are exponentially approaching the planets capacity; and our children will be answering the door when the fire marshal shows up.

  35. sir says:

hi I think that the population is to and we need rules on it. we are growing faster than we can support and soon we might not be able to keep up for good.

  36. D Keuper says:

We need another World War the human species is breeding to quickly and not enough of us are dying and not to mention the resources are drying up extremely fast new things have to be introduced very soon if not we are looking at a global calamity.

    • Ariana Grande' says:

Actually World Wars cause the population to increase because people are encouraged to have more children to make up for the people lost in the war, which doesn’t really make sense because they always end up having more children than they lose.

  37. Kittykat says:

How many are born per average life time?

  38. DB term says:

Unfortunately, the cry babies & do gooders of this country helping the 3rd world countries will make this PLANET overcrowded. Think, world population doubled over last 40 yrs. That puts us at 227 Billion 200 years from now.

  39. SAIKAT says:

MISSING PERSON WE ARE NOT COUNT IN DEATH LIST. BUT THE SUSPICIOUS PROXY ALWAYS COUNTED BY PEOPLE. BECAUSE OUR WORLD IS HACKED. PEOPLE IS PUPPET.

  40. pmorton says:

Absolutely, we must make World Leaders regulate population, might seem cruel but it makes so much sense or our world will be ruined for all. U.K. Government should only pay child benefits for first two children and even then much more for the first child as all equipment for baby has to be bought at this time.

  41. Gunther Stigler says:

Ignorance and stupidity have always been our arch-enemies and always will be.Not being aware of the reason for our existence is the cause for the many problems we have created for ourself. A good Gardener never “over-populates” his Garden and weeding is done regularly…

  42. Eve says:

Does anyone actually know any basic math? I won’t even post it here at the risk of facts being called foolish…get your calculator (or Google) and find out what the square mileage is for the state of Texas. Go ahead, I will wait. Got it? ok- now you tell me overpopulation is a myth when the entire world population can fit easily into half of Texas with each person having their OWN square mile to stand in. As far as resources- another fun one. Do you know why so much of India is starving? Bc they belive cows are sacred. Yup- while bunch of burgers walking around eating precious grain while people starve. Come on people- don’t take their blue pills anymore…take the red pill!!

  43. Gunther Stigler says:

Intelligent and learned people don’t have big families. The answer is simple, they are “smart”

    • PonchoKitty says:

You are foolish and naive, why would someone who wants to live a happy life want to have no or few children to love and take care of them.

  44. simon says:

What I have trouble understanding is why cemeteries haven’t grown to absurd sizes (a long time ago) considering the gigantic number of deaths that has occurred- all in all. And constantly keeps occurring. Every day in any given town. You’d think every square meter of the planet would be a gravesite by now… Yet that’s nowhere near the case.. Am I underestimating the size of the Earth or am I missing something else…?

  54. Nature Geek says:

Population increase isn’t such a problem…Most of Alaska and many desert areas in the world are barren. Maybe we could transport families onto submarines. Or we could make floating houses and take over the sky.. though I love nature and would hate to see it all disappear.

  55. Mick says:
