Are you a Citizen Earth?
In our Kid Power section, you will learn about kids that have done amazing things. They’ve helped thousands of birds caught in the Gulf Oil Spill. Or created their own environmental website. Other kids’ science projects taught communities how to conserve water. These eco superheroes have gone beyond the call to make Mother Earth a better place.
But what about those everyday superheroes that make changes in small ways to slow down global warming or conserve our precious resources? In this category is a young man called Brennen. He works for an environmentally-friendly car wash that recycles and conserves its water. He sorts and recycles his garbage to keep trash that ends up in a local landfill to a minimum. He carpools to school with friends, and he makes sure lights, video games and other electronics are turned off when not in use.
We call Brennen Citizen Earth, a person who takes small steps – which add up to big steps – in keeping our environment clean and healthy. With very little effort, and a pinch of dedication, we all can be Citizen Earth.
How can you be a better Citizen Earth? Tell us what YOU are doing to make our world a better place.
