What does nourish mean? Watch this inspiring video by the folks at Nourish and think about what really nourishes you.

To nourish yourself and others means more than just sustaining life with food. It implies some deeper sense of feeding the heart and soul as well as the body. In fact, the dictionary definition for nourish includes the word cherish.

To nourish one’s self and others involves a sense of love and connection. In fact, connection in and of its self is nourishing. To reap the full value from the food you eat requires some consciousness of connection; connection with the land and the people who grew or raised the food, with who prepared the food, with the actual life force in the food itself.

I love this quote of Nadine Burke, MD from the video:

When I focused on just nourishing my body, everything else became so much easier; food choices became easier, exercising became easier. It was really just about taking care of myself and treating my self sweet.
