Friday Night at the Movies: Ecology TodayA little more than a year ago, Friday Night at the Movies featured a fascinating presentation by Janine Benyus on the topic of biomimicry — the art and science of drawing upon nature as inspiration to solve to design problems in a sustainable way.

This week’s Movie features three short videos about robots that borrow from and imitate nature. Lacking the trait of sustainability, these things really can’t be categorized as examples of biomimicry — but building them does teach us something about the creatures they draw upon.

And some of them are just plain cool.
